Tutorial: Getting started with Google Fusion Tables

Google Fusion Tables is a popular tool used to visualize large amounts of data and, in particular, create maps with different layers of data. Recenly, the National Press Foundation has held a webinar for journalists on how to use Google Fusion Tables.  Vanessa Schneider, Google Geo Media Program Manager,  introduced Fusion Tables and focused on maps visualizations. In particular, such issues as how to get your spreadsheet data into Fusion Tables, how to style and share your map and merge different tables of information together were covered.

In this presentation, basic steps for building a map are clarified. You might also want to have a look at a Fusion Tables Workshop offered by Google. Here’re instructions from on how to get started with Fusion Tables and how to build different types of visualizations.
